Fixing kitchen sprayer problems-the sprayer is vulnerable to mineral deposits that are created due to the trace mineral content in the water-supply. The amount of mineral deposition dictates the kind of problem associated with the sprayer. Mild depositions will cause spraying or jet-spraying of the water in all directions.



However, deep-seated deposits can cause reduced pressure and choking of the water-flow. This happens when the mineral deposits start to accumulate in the aerator that is located at the base of the faucet. Such choked aerator holes disturb the flow of water, creating excessive pressure on the faucet's internal composition. You can easily check the aerator, using basic tools like a paint-brush and a soap solution. The aerator is visible when the base of the faucet is removed.



When you brush it repeatedly, the small mineral deposits begin to crumble and become immediately visible. Wash the aerator repeatedly with the soap solution, brushing it thoroughly to scrub-away the deposits. However, if the water-flow is still disturbed and is accompanied with substantial misting, you need to check the valves of the kitchen sink sprayer. The most common culprit here is the diverter valve. It is located at the base of the faucet. When loose, it causes the sprayer to malfunction. Tightening the valve is easy with a household wrench.
